Rita-Anne Piquet will introduce the basic structure of flowers and plants so you can create a pencil drawing. Work from live specimens and draw from a botanical perspective.

An introduction to this extremely successful technique. Joan will show you how to use a photocopy of a favourite family photo to create an 8”x10” painting that will be a wonderful family momento. To get started, bring the original photo and an 8”x10” black & white photocopy of it to the workshop.

Play with colour and abstract design, individually or in groups, using only acrylic paints and canvas. A great activity for cooperative arts experiences or introducing colour mixing and abstract design. For any age or experience level!

An introduction to various techniques for transferring photo images to canvas, tiles, and paper. Produce three different works with transferred images. Bring two 8 x10 in. colour photocopies of photos you want to transfer to canvas and one or two small black and white photocopies of your favourites or old family pictures.

TINTYPE PHOTOGRAPHY – A11 – $95

This is a unique opportunity to experience an historical photographic technique. During a practical demo session Horst will explain the chemistry and equipment for the tintype process, from start to finish, including portrait session, producing a unique keepsake image of each participant.
